March 14 is a special day for maths geeks; it is a day to celebrate the number pi, which is often rounded to 3.14. The number is derived from the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. In Henderson, at 1:59 pm ("159" happens to be the next three digits after "3.14" in the pi numeric expression), the absolutely geeky but cool teachers of the Mathematics Department celebrated this special day by having a PIe each.
How would you celebrate Pi Day? If you have any interesting ideas, please feel free to approach any Maths teachers so that next year's Pi Day celebration would be more meaningful.
