Design in Graphics Calculator Competition 2012

The Mathematics Dept participated in the Design in Graphics Calculator Competition and after beating traditional powerhouses such as HCI ,Victoria JC, River Valley and National JC, we finally came in 3rd overall, clinching $1000 cash and Ti Product voucher worth $500.


This was a gradual improvement in ranking from 2010 (10th position) to 2011 (5th position) and finally the breakthrough into the top 3 this year.
At the same time, we also achieved 7 entries in the top 50 individual positions with our highest entry coming in at 5th position, again improving on last year's results of 6 entries in the top 50 individual positions with the highest entry coming in at 28th position.   The students who took part had an enjoyable experience and learned that the they could so much more with their graphics calculator and not just do addition and subtraction!
